Manufacturing buyer's guide / Xeon NC

Looking for a SendCutSend alternative?

SendCutSend made online sheet metal easy to order. Xeon NC works the same way: upload a file, get a price, order one part or a thousand. Here is how the two compare, where each one fits, and how to move a job over.

01 / The short answer

Two online fab shops. Different strengths.

If your parts are laser-cut and bent sheet metal, machined parts or MJF prints, Xeon NC gives you the same upload, quote and order flow, with no minimum order.

The differences are in the details. Xeon NC publishes the bend data it forms your parts with, sends a proof drawing before production, and adds HP Multi Jet Fusion 3D printing alongside sheet metal and machining. SendCutSend runs three plants and lists processes Xeon NC does not offer, including waterjet, CNC routing of plastics and wood, plating and welding.

Pick the shop that runs the processes your part needs. Then pick the one whose data you can design to.

03 / What is different at Xeon NC

Design to the shop's real numbers.

Most online quotes tell you a price. Xeon NC also tells you how the part will be made, before you order.

01 / BEND DATA

Published K-factors

The K-factor, inside radius, V-die and bend deduction for every stocked thickness. See the K-factor chart or any material page.

02 / DFM CODES

Every error explained

Each quote warning has a code. The DFM lookup says what it means and how to fix it.

03 / PROOF

A drawing before production

A proof drawing comes back before your parts are cut, so a wrong flange or a missing hole is caught on paper.

The tools are free whether you order or not: a press brake bend simulator that runs every bend on real TRUMPF tooling, a press brake tooling library, bending and cutting calculators, a gauge chart and a tap drill chart. If a part needs a person, you can ask for a CAD review or an engineer-reviewed quote.

04 / When SendCutSend fits better

A fair comparison says where the other shop wins.

Use the shop that runs the process. These are the jobs where SendCutSend lists a service Xeon NC does not.

Xeon NC is usually the stronger fit

Sheet metal you want made to known numbers

  • You want the K-factor and bend deduction before you design.
  • You want a proof drawing before production.
  • The order mixes sheet metal with machined parts or MJF prints.
  • You are in the West and want parts made in Idaho.
  • You want to order one part without a minimum.
SendCutSend may be the stronger fit

Processes Xeon NC does not run

  • Waterjet cutting.
  • CNC routing of plastics, composites or wood.
  • Zinc or nickel plating.
  • Welded assemblies.
  • Dimple forming.

Plenty of builders use both: one shop for the parts it does best, another for the rest. If you are not sure which process your part needs, our guide to where to get sheet metal parts walks through the options. Comparing other shops too? 05 / Moving a job over

Bring the same file. Check three things.

01
Send the formed STEP when you have it.We develop the flat pattern from the bend data for the die that runs your job. See STEP vs. DXF.
02
Match material and thickness to our catalog.Every stocked alloy and thickness is on the materials page, with its laser and bend limits.
03
If you send a flat DXF, check the K-factor.A blank developed with another shop's bend allowance can come out a few thousandths off per bend. Use the row in our K-factor chart.
Same file, same workflow. The only new step is checking the bend data.
06 / Frequently asked questions

SendCutSend alternative FAQs.

Is Xeon NC a good SendCutSend alternative?

For laser-cut and bent sheet metal, CNC machining, MJF 3D printing, powder coating and Type II anodizing, yes: Xeon NC covers the same upload-quote-order workflow with no minimum order. If you need waterjet, CNC routing of plastics or wood, plating or welding, SendCutSend lists those services and Xeon NC does not.

Can I upload the same files I use with SendCutSend?

Usually. Xeon NC quotes from STEP and DXF files. A formed STEP file is the safest choice, because we develop the flat pattern from the bend data for the die that will run your job. If you upload a flat DXF, check that its bend allowance matches our K-factor for your material and thickness.

Does Xeon NC have a minimum order?

No. Single-piece orders are welcome, and the same quote and order flow handles larger quantities.

Where does Xeon NC make parts?

Every Xeon NC part is made in one shop in Nampa, Idaho, and shipped to you. SendCutSend lists plants in Reno, Nevada; Paris, Kentucky; and Arlington, Texas.

What does Xeon NC publish that helps with design?

The K-factor, inside radius, V-die and bend deduction for every stocked thickness, a lookup for every quote error and warning code, a press brake tooling library, and free bending and cutting calculators.

Is Xeon NC affiliated with SendCutSend?

No. SendCutSend is an independent company and a trademark of its owner. This page compares publicly listed services so you can choose the right shop for each job.
